November 8th, 2006 by hubcapper
Bedford-based Groove Mobile has been investing in scaling out its mobile music platform, expanding its music catalog and hiring a director of off-portal marketing to oversee its expansion beyond white-label music catalog services to direct, Groove-branded “off deck” consumer services.
Groove’s music service is available on the Sprint network in the US, which saw 8 million song downloads last year, on Orange in the UK, and other networks internationally. The company announced in September that it powers music on 8 of the world’s top 10 selling mobile phones, reaching 81 million subscribers in 10 countries.
Founded in 2002, Groove Mobile has received $17.5 million in funding from investors including Egan Managed Capital and Charles River Ventures.
