Satellite television provider DirecTV announced this week that it had selected Cambridge-based ChoiceStream to power a new personalized program recommendations feature for its 15.5 million subscribers called “My TV Planner.”
This is just the latest in a series of wins for ChoiceStream, which offers personalization solutions for online services, television, and mobile applications. Existing customers include Yahoo Movies, Yahoo Shopping, AOL television, MovieLink, Vongo, Akimbo, and eMusic.
ChoiceStream made a splash earlier this month when it issued its own response to the $1M prize offered by Netflix to the best recommendation solution for the DVD-by-mail service. In June, the company raised a $13.1 million series B from Sutter Hill Ventures, General Catalyst Partners and Sage Hill Partners.
