Conde Nast Buys Reddit; Founders Decamp To SFO
October 31st, 2006 by hubcapper
Conde Nast, having recently reunited the long lost wired.com with its namesake Wired Magazine, has acquired social news aggregator Reddit.
Reddit is the most prominent alumnus of Paul Graham’s minimalist startup incubator Y Combinator. In recent months, Reddit has experimented with private label versions of its site that aim for audiences other than their geek base, such as the befuddling lipstick.com for…tweens?
Apparently now that they’ve graduated to the big leagues, the Reddit team is ready to leave their sugar daddy behind. News reports have them relocating from Boston to San Francisco to join the rest of the Wired Digital team. Either that, or their Digg envy finally got the better of them.
