Ghosts of Liberty Scares Up a Good Time
October 18th, 2006 by hubcapper
Yesterday’s Boston Globe featured an article about Ghosts of Liberty, an “augmented reality” scavenger hunt game running through Halloween in Boston’s North End. For $60, teams of 2 to 4 compete to solve revolutionary war themed puzzles, guided by clues delivered via a Nokia 6630 smart phone.
Ghosts of Liberty is produced by Urban Interactive, a Boston-based interactive gaming venture specializing in collaborative games that operate in real world environments.
At least through Halloween, Boston motorists should keep an eye out for mobs of cell phone toting gamers darting across Hanover Street under cover of darkness. As if the big dig isn’t enough to scare drivers already!
